Beautiful views
The landscape is pretty and surreal if you're not living in a high plains desert. Great campground for star gazing or watching the local hares bound around. Quick drive to Great Dunes or Alamosa. In mid September, water was off but electricity was on. Weather usually dry and a bit windy. Cold at night but if you wear clothes you probably won't mind tent camping or RV'ing without a furnace this time of year. Swimming not allowed in the lake, if you're some strange polar bear that likes near freezing dips in muddy desert lakes.
